ViewSonic ViewPad 7

ViewSonic has unveiled the Android OS-based ViewPad 7 multitouch tablet at the 2010 IFA Show in Berlin.

The 7-inch ViewPad 7 runs Androdid 2.2 with access to the Google Android app marketplace and provides 3G phone, augmented reality, navigation, and ebook reading functionality, besides Internet and multimedia capabilities.

It uses a 600MHz Qualcomm “Snapdragon” processor and has a Micro SD slot for up to 32GB of storage capacity, a front VGA and back-facing 3.2MP camera, stereo speakers, a full-size SIM card slot, Wi-Fi, integrated Bluetooth, Assisted GPS, built-in accelerometer, a mini-USB port, and an audio connector.

The LED-backlight display has a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels.

The ViewSonic ViewPad 7 is a 7-inch Android tablet that answers the call for a carrier-agnostic alternative to the Samsung Galaxy Tab. Priced around $450, the ViewPad 7 offers an impressive spec sheet, Android Market access, and all the accoutrements of Android 2.2. It isn’t an iPad killer, but its accessible SIM and memory card make it one of the most flexible high-end Android tablets available.
